Lindsey Graham ends his campaign for U.S. president

The not-so-surprising collapse of Lindsey Graham’s presidential campaign has left Arizona’s senior senator with some choices. “I have offered a detailed plan to win a war we can not afford to lose and to turn back the tide of isolationism that has been rising in the Republican party”, he said. “My campaign has come to a point where I need to think about getting out and helping somebody else”, said Graham.

He also said that the defamation suits would not scare him from his path and his fight against corruption would continue. What compounded the crisis for Jaitley and his party was the attack by BJP lawmaker Kirti Azad on the issue.

Graham told CNN the rules hurt his campaign, noting that it’s hard for candidates that have never run before or come from political royalty to reach the main stage.

Polls showed that Graham, a three-term Senator from SC, wasn’t well known outside his home state. After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage, Graham said he “will respect” the decision and wouldn’t pursue a “divisive” effort to amend the U.S. Constitution to reverse it.
