Lingering flight delays remain in the wake of US blizzard
Nationwide more than 8,000 flights have been canceled, with 324 of those occurring at Orlando International Airport, officials said.

According to the airport’s website, only a single American Airlines flight to Washington D.C. that had been scheduled to depart at 6:59 a.m. this morning was cancelled.
In addition to flight cancellations, Amtrak service from Miami to NY was suspended.
In Washington D.C., Washington Dulles International listed 127 cancellations and 3 delays, making it the third-worst affected airport in the nation.
If you thought the blizzard conditions on the east coast weren’t having an effect on the St. Louis area, you needed look no further than Lambert St. Louis International Airport.
So-called Winter Storm Jonas pummeled much of the Eastern Coast over the weekend, leaving more than 35 inches of snow in its wake in many cities.

The major airlines say some of these cancelled flights won’t be rebooked until Tuesday at the earliest. It also lets airlines restart the system quicker because they have planes and crews in place.
