Lion killed cow, not Dalit men flogged by gau rakshaks: Gujarat CID

In a shocking revelation, seven Dalit victims who suffered atrocities at the hands of cow vigilante group Gau Raksha Samiti in Amreli, Guajrat, have alleged that their attackers were planning to burn them alive in an 8-by-8 room.

The organisations announced that they would not collect dead animals anywhere in Gujarat and also launch a “Jhadu down” (broom down) agitation, with persons involved with sanitation stopping work across all local government bodies. “Sadly, such incidents are happening around us regularly”, he said. I think the time has come that people should know that BJP is anti-Dalit.

Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) held a massive protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar here terming the incident of thrashing of Dalits by the cow vigilantes for skinning a dead cow in Una of Gujarat.

Among the key demands of the newly formed joint action group would be to invoke the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, against those responsible as well as the conspirators of the Una torture.

In a clear indication that Gujarat was on AAP’s electoral radar, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said the result of the Assembly polls in the western state next year could “surprise everyone” and that Delhi and Gujarat will now “fight together” against the BJP.

Kejriwal had blamed the Gujarat government for their misery. She is the officer who is said to have met the gau rakshaks when they brought the Sarvaiya men to the police station.

An entry made at 1.30 pm on July 11 in the Una police station records is attributed to “state control room, Ahmedabad” (the state control room is in Gandhinagar), saying one Naranbhai tipped off an alleged cow slaughter incident in Mota Samadhiyala. “They fear that they would be attacked again if they leave without police protection”.
