Residency shows in Las Vegas, a city that thrives on its casinos and other entertainment, have become increasingly commonplace for artists who are mature in their careers.
The singer-songwriter admitted his decision to sign the deal for Las Vegas came after a discussion with his son Miles. Richie said he was excited for the Las Vegas run because it gives him the opportunity to do, basically, anything he wants on stage. He said, “Oh, my God, dad, that’d be the coolest thing in the world!’ ‘So it’s just time”. “WE are going to have the best time, ‘” Richie stated in an interview Wednesday.
In addition to the residency, sixty six-year-previous Richie might be honored by The Recording Academy next year as its MusiCares individual of the year. Performers at the February 13 gala include Pharrell Williams, Luke Bryan and Lady Antebellum. “I don’t know what it is, but I don’t sing that song any more”.

“I want my crowd to feel like they’re in it as opposed to just coming to watch it. At Glastonbury, it was almost like The Rocky Horror Picture Show – people were coming dressed as Lionel Richie!” he said. “That’s what I call … really high cotton when you’re in that group of honourees”.
