Lions Stun Packers at Lambeau
But losing a home game to the 1-7 Detroit Lions is downright embarrassing. The organization had been reeling following the midseason firings of the team president and general manager.

But Green Bay recovered the onside kick after Lions receiver Calvin Johnson dropped the ball and it was recovered by Damarious Randall.
A 2-point conversion pass by Aaron Rodgers was broken up by Crezdon Butler, who had just been signed by the Lions in the days leading up to the game.
The unidentified fan got an earful from Rodgers who took it upon himself to set this person straight.
Both McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers denied that Rodgers is playing injured, though McCarthy did express concern that his quarterback has been taking too many hits over the last few weeks. That made it first-and-10 from the 11 with 36 seconds to go.
As for Rodgers, who three times said he “missed some throws”, the only thing he could say definitively was that he is not hurt. The Ljons beat the Packers 18-16.
Green Bay wasn’t done.
Neither the Packers nor the National Football League have released statements regarding the Packers fan’s comment or Rodgers’ response. The Lions had given up 37.3 points per game in their previous four games but held Green Bay’s struggling offense in check.
Rodgers was 35 of 61 for 333 yards, but wasn’t at his best. “I had real tight coverage”.
Matthew Stafford did something that 12 other Detroit Lions quarterbacks before him couldn’t: win at Lambeau Field. Not that it mattered. The Packers got to within a 52-yard field goal try by Mason Crosby that fell short. Tight end Richard Rodgers caught 5 balls for 32 yards and a TD. “And Jim Bob (Cooter) did a nice job with the play calling and getting some adjustments against a very, very tough, gritty defense”. The Packers face the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears in their next two games.

A nervous Stafford said he couldn’t watch that play.
