Lions vs. Bengals: Score, Stats & Highlights Preseason

The Bengals look to shake off a 17-16 loss in their preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings as they take to the road to face off with the Detroit Lions as we inch closer to each team’s respective season opener in a few weeks time.

With 2015 first-round pick Cedric Ogbeuhi sidelined by a sore toe, Jake Fisher made the start at right tackle Thursday night against the Lions, but lasted just nine plays. “We left too many on the field when we were out there”.

Andy Dalton was 7 of 9 for 78 yards for the Bengals.

Coach Jim Caldwell said he wasn’t aware of booing because he was focused on the game, but said “you’re going to get some criticism” if you don’t play well.

The Lions meanwhile are coming off a strong effort against the Steelers and they will look to replicate that as former Iowa and MI quarterback Jake Rudock should see extended minutes once again.

Bengals: WR Tyler Boyd continues to impress.

Following another Prater field goal, Cincinnati scored in the final minute of the half on A.J. McCarron’s 12-yard pass to Tyler Boyd. Boyd had two catches for 38 yards and the score, while Rex Burkhead lead ground game with 27 yards on three carries.

Lions: There’s some uncertainty at the backup quarterback spot, with Dan Orlovsky doing little to inspire confidence when his interception was returned for a touchdown. He completed 8-of-11 passes for 90 yards, but threw an interception in the fourth quarter.
