List of nominees for 73rd Golden Globe Awards

Tomlin’s nomination for the Paul Woetz film was the one I was most hoping for when the Golden Globes announced their nominations early this morning, especially after the beloved cultural icon was overlooked last week by film critic groups on both sides of the coast.

The nominees for TV movie or limited series are “American Crime”, “American Horror Story: Hotel”, “Fargo”, “Flesh and Bone”, and “Wolf Hall”.

The movie has been nominated in the best motion picture drama alongside Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant, Spotlight and Room.

The 73rd Golden Globe awards will be held January 10 and hosted by Ricky Gervais. “We set out to make a film that would help us better understand our children, but never imagined it would have the impact that it has, and we could not be more thrilled or filled with JOY to receive this nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press”, says director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera.

“Carol” is up for best drama against Pioneer-era movie “The Revenant”, psychological thriller “Room“, Catholic Church abuse probe “Spotlight” and thriller “Mad Max: Fury Road”, a surprise contender in the category, which rarely sees a blockbuster action nominee.

“The Martian” is first and foremost a sci-fi adventure, but it’s at least peppered throughout with humor from Drew Goddard’s script. “Joy”, is no sure nominee, even in comedy, but it’s in the more awkward position of not really containing any comedy.
