Listen To Prophets Of Rage Self-Titled Debut Single

The of Rage have been on a singular mission since forming out of the remnants of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill back in May: “Make America Rage Again”.

Hip-Hop supergroup Prophets Of Rage are preparing to rock the Republican National Convention, where the group’s nationwide tour kicks off tomorrow (July 19). Democracy Now! spoke with activists and organizers who took to the streets after a concert by Prophets of Rage, a new project of Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello.

The track features a new verse from Cypress Hill’s B-Real, along with some new musical chops, and will feature on an EP that’s slated for release later in the year.

It feels like just about every rapper has taken a turn at criticizing Donald Trump, so it wouldn’t be right if one of the more overtly political rap groups didn’t have something to say about the controversial Republican presidential candidate.

However, Prophets of Rage have now unveiled their first eponymous single and wouldn’t you know it, it sounds just like Rage Against the Machine, minus Zack de la Rocha’s vocals, obviously. The band are also set to perform on Jimmy Kimmel this Monday. There, the band played a short gig, which saw Morello address the crowd. After the march, they played another show at the Cleveland Public Square.
