Listeria fear prompts 372K-pound hot dog, corn dog recall
Thousands of pounds of corn dogs and hot dogs sold nationwide are under recall because of a possible listeria contamination.

16-ounce packages of Bun Length Franks with a “use by” date of October 11, 2016, and case code 209.
The recalled products were produced on July 10, 11, 12, and 13 of 2016.
BAR-S says no tested items have tested positive for the bacteria, but their firm has recurring Listeria species.
No reports of illness have been linked to the products.
Listeria is a food poisoning that primarily affects older adults, pregnant women newborns and adults with weakened immune systems.
12-ounce packages of Classic Franks with package code 6338, “use by ” date of October 10, 2016, and case code 6405.
The recalled products have an establishment number “EST”.
48-ounce cartons of Classic Corn Dogs with package code 14054, “use by” dates of April 6 and 9, 2017, and case code 14038. “P-81A” inside the USDA inspection mark.
Consumption of listeria-contaminated foods can result in listeriosis infection that can cause fever, muscle aches, headaches, confusion and convulsions. Infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn, according to the CDC. People who have these products in their freezers, or refrigerators are encouraged to throw them out or return them to where the product was purchased.
