Little bird steals the show at Sanders rally in hip Portland
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is returning to Washington state for a second time this week, ahead of Saturday’s Democratic caucuses.

As the bird landed on his podium, Sanders said: “I know it doesn’t look like it, but that bird is a dove asking for world peace”.
“Now you see… this little bird doesn’t know it…”
The Sanders campaign quickly started tweeting about it – as did the TV show “Portlandia”, a sketch comedy show that parodies Portland’s hipster scene. But a few moments that had nothing to do with Sanders’ speech went viral Friday afternoon.
The Bloomberg Politics poll should be viewed with a huge asterisk because it included Independents along with Democrats when surveying about the Clinton/Sanders matchup. Oregon’s primary will be on May 17, although mail ballots will go out around the end of April.
Sanders discussed his positions on minimum wage, the environment, equal rights and taxes. The day before, Sanders held three rallies in Washington, drawing thousands, according to news reports.

The city’s famous Voodoo Doughnut shop had a large doughnut made in Sanders’ likeliness, presumably for him to enjoy after the rally.
