In the bottom of the fourth, Jude Abbadessa lined a one-out single, and he went to third on Harlost’s single up the middle.

Obama called Maine-Endwell Saturday after the team captured the U.S. Championship.

The team defeated Tennessee on Saturday to win the USA championship, then defeated South Korea on Sunday to win the world championship.

Conner Rush scored in the fourth inning to give Endwell a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

The next batter, Jack Hopko, swung at an outside pitch for strike three, but the ball popped out of catcher Junseo Cho’s glove and Harlost scored before Cho could retrieve it. They beat a team from South Korea, 2-1.

Yoomin Lee homered in the fifth to give South Korea its run and close the gap to 2-1.

Minho Choi struck out with runners on first and second to end the game.

That was all South Korea could get, however as New York’s defense came up big all afternoon.

Harlost, the next batter, singled, and Rush followed, driving in the go-ahead run with a single behind the shortstop. “We didn’t hit their pitching hard, we might have had one or two hard-hit balls”.

As Ryan Harlost stepped to the mound on Sunday, he took it all in.
