Live tiger reported inside Detroit’s Packard Plant, police on scene

A British photography crew on Monday accidentally lost track of a tiger it had brought on a photoshoot at the historic Packard Plant in Detroit.

Predictably, social media went wild. He said his friend needed “something with a loud noise”, such as a leaf-blower to scare the tiger into a crate in a trailer.

Wildlife photographer David Yarrow had a photo shoot scheduled and paid for, but he did not tell anyone he would bring a wolf, a bobcat and a tiger, sneaking them through another entrance.

Andy Didorosi said in a series of Facebook posts he was summoned to the plant to assist with the tiger’s capture. I stopped what I was doing, grabbed my tools and hopped in my truck, because, you know, tiger….

“It’s not safe in Detroit now as it is, now we see a tiger”, said Barbara Anderson-Hughes. “There’s never been a situation where we’ve had any kind of animals on site”.

You can’t make that up.

Smith says the photo “shoot was authorized… the animals were not authorized”.

Soon after security was alerted of the tiger’s presence, the animals and crew were kicked off site.

She added that the animals were not harmed and trainers were on site to handle the critters. We do not condone animals being on the site here, and the shoot was canceled.

The animal was there as part of an unauthorized photo shoot, and the incident is now under investigation by the property owners.

Didorosi, a local entrepreneur, says the whole thing should never have happened.

“People think it’s OK to bring super risky animals into the city without alerting the authorities because they think people don’t care, because they think it’s a cesspool and that they can do whatever (they) want”, Didorosi said. “That is not cool”.
