Mamadou Sakho has been told he must leave Liverpool on loan before the transfer window closes on Wednesday, according to reports.

The England worldwide is said to be unhappy with his current role under Jurgen Klopp, having picked up under 100 match minutes from the opening four competitive matches, and having been utilized out wide also.

However, Sakho reportedly rejected the advances of three clubs, including Turkish champions Besiktas and Premier League duo West Brom and Stoke City, after finding none of their offers suitable.

Sakho was sent back from the Reds’ pre-season tour of North America for disciplinary breaches.

In turn, it’s unlikely that Sakho will see much playing time over the next few months at least, and so his decision to remain and seemingly fight for his place is a unusual one having been given a clear indication that he wouldn’t get an opportunity to play.

However, Klopp wishes to see the defender prove his fitness and professionalism elsewhere before integrating him back into the first-team squad.

“I have to build a group here, we have to start new here”, Klopp was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo in July.

In an interview with Goal.com, Carragher said: “I think we go back to the norm”. It’s not that serious.

“If somebody doesn’t respect it, or somebody gives me the feeling he is not respecting it, then I have to react, that’s all”.
