Liverpool have already brought in the likes of Joel Matip, Georginio Wijnaldum, Loris Karius, and Sadio Mane, all of whom are relatively unknown quantities compared to Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Speaking to ESPN about more signings coming in, Klopp said: “If I had to guess I would say rather no, but I don’t know actually because it’s a long time until August 31 and I have no idea”.

“We are looking to be successful and win trophies, that is something I have not tasted yet with Liverpool”. The day that this is football, I’m not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together.

Manager Jurgen Klopp maintained the England global would benefit from a proper full pre-season and, having joined up with the squad at their Palo Alto training base in California last week, Sturridge is now getting up to speed. Klopp admitted as much, quipping; “There are no transfers I didn’t want, we have not sold anyone I didn’t want us to sell”.

“Yes, I like if my team plays with great aggressivity (aggression) and high intensity, Conte said”.

“I always gave an identity to my teams”.

“I met all of them before we made the transfer and then it is about feeling the person behind the player”. You want to learn about other players. “I am 100 percent happy with the guys we have brought in until now”.

There are a lot of players outside that pool – good players on to the next step in their career. If you do that, you know their good, their bad and you wonder whether you will do it again.

“I know about these players so I don’t ask them”.

“[There are some new drills] because we didn’t have time to work with the boys last season. He had a very hard year last year with injuries, I’ve been there when you’re injured and frustrated”.

Conte also backed captain John Terry, who signed a new one-year contract in May after it appeared he was destined to leave the club, to play a big part this season – although he suggested the 35-year-old may not play as regularly.
