“It’s a big night for his Liverpool career”.

A win at Anfield would be the second time in as many Europa League ties that Liverpool have come from behind to win in front of their home fans after they edged Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals.

Allen acknowledged Liverpool had found it hard to cope with the playing style of Villarreal, which he found significantly different to that of Premier League teams.

Swansea City forward Andre Ayew is over the moon after scoring twice in his side’s 3-1 defeat of Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

Klopp is determined to put on a show in the semi final, and he insisted his side will go down fighting, no matter the outcome.

Lovren stressed the need to play clever football against Villarreal, something Klopp echoed in his pre-match address, but both will be hoping for passionate backing from Anfield to aid their efforts. I have no concrete offers at the moment but certainly in the summer I want to get back to work again. These moments you really know we are all together.

“It will be a hard game, Villarreal is a really compact team, with good individual players-a really counter-attacking team”.

In front of whoever is in the midfield, Daniel Sturridge certainly has to start, doesn’t he?

“It’s not that from now on that I always expect wonders from us, or the crowd, in hard close games”. Yes, it could be a game for him 100 per cent, but I have made no decision until now for the line-up. We know about their strength but we saw our strength too, even in the first game.

When asked if Sturridge would start at Anfield, Klopp said: “I was waiting for this question”. The Reds are expected to go all out to qualify for the final, as winning the Europa League is their best chance of gaining European football next season.

Including a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United, Liverpool have now gone three games without victory in all competitions, but Klopp is confident that they will rediscover their poise when the moment comes.
