Liverpool can not wait for Europa League final – Allen

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has apologised after going back on his initial invitation of urging fans without tickets for the Europa League final to travel to Basel anyway.

“We’ve been able to freshen things up and still get good performances and results so it’s good for the whole squad”.

“This season, finishing fifth, sixth or seventh won’t be the biggest season in Liverpool’s history obviously but everyone has seen positives”.

“I am looking forward to it”.

The Merseyside outfit can not finish higher than fifth this season with only games against Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion remaining in their league campaign.

“Last time I spoke about Basel, I spoke like a supporter when I invited all Liverpool fans to Basel – that was not too smart to be honest”, said Klopp after the game.

Watford has two games left and is free from relegation danger. They changed completely. They are already preparing for the final. We can’t do this. – If Liverpool win it will be the 27th home win in this fixture in the Premier League (currently 13 each) – no Premier League fixture has had more (Liverpool v Newcastle also 27).

John Terry may have played his 703rd and final game for Chelsea as he begins a two-match suspension. “We will try everything for sure”.

Indeed, Chelsea have only won one of their last five league matches and they are winless in four against Liverpool; odds of 14/5 on an away win seem short, however, the fact that four of these clubs’ previous nine encounters have been drawn suggests 13/5 on a draw can not be written off.

“Everything is OK, no injuries, 58 points, so not too bad”, said Klopp after the game. That latest injury was originally supposed to keep him out for between six to eight weeks, although Liverpool admitted at the time that LCL issues have been known to carry on for up to three months. “For our game we will have to see”, said Klopp.

“Yesterday, he was on the pitch and he trained, not with the team but with Jordan [Milsom] and the rehab department”.
