Gary McAllister has accepted an ambassadorial role with Liverpool as the club have reorgansied their backroom staff ahead of the imminent appointment of Jurgen Klopp as their new manager.

At Liverpool, once the enthusiasm over his arrival settles down, he will be expected to win trophies with the former European champions having gone a quarter of a century without an English league title.
Klopp will get to work at Melwood on Monday, and will have the weekend to acquaint himself with his new working environment as well as Anfield itself.
Klopp has yet to sign what is understood to be a three-year contract but the fact he is arriving on Merseyside makes that part of the deal a formality.
However, Dortmund struggled last season, finishing seventh in the Bundesliga and losing the German Cup final in Klopp’s final game in charge before he quit at the end of the season saying he wanted a sabbatical.
Even before his plane had touched down at John Lennon airport, Jurgen Klopp was welcomed into Liverpool as the Anfield saviour. To hear Liverpool supporters talk about it, you’d think the Reds are close to signing Marco Reus, Hummels, Shinji Kagawa and pretty much every player to don a Dortmund kit under Klopp.
The first team to face the new Liverpool will be Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Oct.17.
Klopp spent seven seasons with the Westfalenstadion outfit and won two league titles during his time.
“From tomorrow I will be a Liverpool man 24/7”, he said through an intercom at his German home.

Bespectacled, never short of a quip and exuding passion on the touchline, Klopp is one of European soccer’s big personalities and was a fan favorite at Mainz – where he started his coaching career in 2001 – and then Dortmund. Fans of Liverpool are hoping he’ll have the same skill with Liverpool.
