Liverpool FC pressing ahead with deal for Mario Gotze alternative
Senegalese worldwide striker Sadio Mane is on the verge of signing for English Premier League giants Liverpool from Southampton, according to British media reports.

The Senegal worldwide has scored 21 Premier League goals in 67 games since signing for Southampton for £11.8m from Red Bull Salzburg two years ago.
Liverpool have raided Southampton for the likes of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Nathaniel Clyne in the last two summers and it appears Mane is likely to follow that path by swapping Southampton for Anfield.
The news outlet claims that Mane will now undergo his medical on Merseyside on Monday afternoon as Liverpool close-in on what would be one of the most expensive signings in the clubs history.
Liverpool didn’t qualify to play in either the Champions League or the Europa League next season.
It would also give Saints a handsome profit on a player they bought from Salzburg for £10m two years ago.
Mane ended the season with 10 goals in 32 appearances.
Sadio Mane is officially now a Liverpool player.
He is set to become Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer after Joel Matip (from Schalke), Marko Grujic (Red Star Belgrade), and goalkeeper Loris Karius (Mainz).
Mane’s Southampton departure sees him follow Victor Wanyama – who joined Tottenham – out of the exit door and comes after manager Ronald Koeman left the club to take charge at Everton.
“I am happy because it is not easy if you start after (pre-season has started)”, added the forward.

Mane broke Robbie Fowler’s record for the fastest ever Premier League hat-trick when he scored three goals in 2 minutes 56 seconds against Aston Villa in his first season in England. The former Southampton’s forward future was subject to intense speculation, but it has now been confirmed that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool won the race for Mane.
