LIVERPOOL – Gerrard: “There is no job for me at Liverpool just yet”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was quiet in regards to the future of Joe Allen, who is reportedly a target for fellow Premier League outfit Stoke City.

“There is nothing about this and all the transfer rumours”, he said.
“Playing against a Championship team in a pre-season game is really hard because they are really hot”, said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
“It’s important to feel the crowd, this is good pre-preparation and what pre-season is for”.
While there was a lack of goalmouth action in the second half, Liverpool suffered a blow when Lucas pulled up with an injury had to be replaced.
He added: “I know I’m in the twilight, I know I’m coming to the end pretty soon”.
“I have said all I can say about this”.
Liverpool now turn their attentions to their 12-day tour of America, jetting off to California in the early hours of Thursday morning to be joined by all of the club’s 12 internationals who took part in Euro 2016.
The second half was somewhat surreal with play briefly halted by a drone which appeared over the pitch before, even more bizarrely, Klopp sent on reserve goalkeeper Shamal George to play up front when Lucas went off injured after all outfield substitutes had been used and he nearly set up Lazar Markovic with his first touch.
He scored a penalty won by Ryan Kent, despite being jeered from his own supporters for taking the ball ahead of George.

Asked about his side maintaining their flawless pre-season record, having scored 10 and conceded none, Klopp insisted that this game “was different” but suggested that they “should have scored more” in the first-half. “He has worked in youth teams and he has done a really good job up until now”, explained Klopp, reflecting on his time with the German-American.
