Liverpool look to Asia for cash windfall

With a fully-fit squad, Klopp has Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke to choose from, so bringing back Balotelli, who is being paid £80,000 a week, is not on the German’s agenda.

Chief commercial officer Billy Hogan is following up interest in a naming rights deal for Anfield’s new Main Stand.

The club would expect to bring in between £7m to £9m per season with a 10-year naming rights package but there remains scope for further expansion.

The Italy global is now on loan at AC Milan until the end of the current season, but it seems highly unlikely that the Rossoneri will make his move permanent after a disappointing spell in Serie A so far, which was not helped by a couple of injuries.

Liverpool are hoping to convince a Chinese Super League club to take costly flop Mario Balotelli off their hands, according to reports in England – and at the same time trying to woo mainland sponsors.

The possibility of a sponsorship package involving other aspects of the club is also a possibility, although the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group previously said that they won’t actively pursue such an arrangement.

Having seen the likes of Teixeira, Paris St Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi, Atletico Madrid’s Jackson Martinez and Chelsea’s Ramires all complete big-money moves to China in recent weeks it is an avenue which the club could look to explore.
