Liverpool manager believes spending £100m for one player is wrong approach

In terms of players coming into the club, Klopp is happy with the way the “democratic” transfer policy is structured as he is used to working with a sporting director from his time at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund in his homeland, where such a model is commonplace.

“I don’t know how it works in other clubs but in this squad it’s not one player”.

“I trust Jurgen Klopp and we should trust him even if he makes a signing we haven’t even heard of before”.

“Certainly at the moment we should not look for excuses and say things like “I need another year” or things like that”.

“I have to build a group here and we’ve got to start new here”.

“You can win championships, you can win titles”.

As for Chelsea, the impact made by its new manager Antonio Conte is clear.

Klopp goes on to suggest that his preference is to recruit players who are not in among the most in-demand in England or Europe.

Chelsea sent out a tweet soon after describing the dismissal as “a little harsh” but later accepted it was a bad tackle, with Fabregas personally seeking out Klavan to express his regret over the incident.

“We will give 100 per cent and see what happens”. “But when you put this one in a famous stadium, things take care of themselves”.

‘That’s a nice feeling, when a great coach as he finds you good. That’s how it is.
