RAHEEM Sterling, one of football’s hottest summer transfer targets, has been identified as the most valuable young player in European football.

However, three weeks on, there has been no further talks between the clubs with City reluctant to go as high as £50million.

Raheem Sterling has dominated media headlines on and off for a while now, with the England worldwide heavily linked with a £50m move to Manchester City (via the Daily Star).

Luis Suarez headed to Australia in 2013 to join up with Liverpool’s tour at the height of Arsenal’s ultimately forlorn pursuit of him.

But for now Sterling is still a Liverpool player, and with the pre-season approaching it will be interesting to see how involved he’ll be in team activities.

The Uruguayan was banished to train on his own before accepting he was going nowhere and knuckling down. City will travel to Australia for an 11-day training camp on Thursday.

The Reds are resigned to losing Raheem Sterling and Brendan Rodgers has identified the Spain worldwide as a replacement for the winger. The ex- Swansea boss has set his sights on Pedro to replace the unhappy player at the club.

However, he will be told that Villa will only sell if a club meets the £32.5million release clause in his contract.

The study offered Sterling’s value at €49.295 million – some way off the £50 million (€70.4m) Liverpool are believed to be holding out for.
