Liverpool result vs. Chelsea has no bearing on Europa League final – Klopp

– If Liverpool win it will be the 27th home win in this fixture in the Premier League (currently 13 each) – no Premier League fixture has had more (Liverpool v Newcastle also 27).

When these two teams met earlier in the season, Liverpool were the victors in one of Klopp’s earliest games at the helm.

“It is really, really, really necessary that you now listen – most of the time you can ignore what I say but now it is important”.

“So in the narrow football world yes, Chelsea should be there”, Hiddink added.

And it looks set to be a particularly busy window for Liverpool, representing Jurgen Klopp’s first real chance of implementing his own ideals on a squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers back in October.

However, Henderson recently returned to training with the Liverpool first team ahead of schedule and is now hopeful he could play again for the Merseysiders before the 2015-16 season goes into the history books.

“I’m not too interested in when Chelsea can next win the title and I have no idea when we can but I promise we will try everything to build on the base of this season”, said Klopp, who is preparing for his 50th match in charge.

“Against Chelsea we will treat this with the same importance as any game we have played previously and any game we play subsequently, because it is our next game”.

“We’re looking forward to the next couple of games before the final”.

“For the rest, for our games, we will have to see what will happen and so I can’t say more”.

“We had Joe in the lounge at Anfield after the game on Sunday to pick up a Man of the Match award”.

‘A lot of things need to be flawless for a really good season. “Our league position isn’t fixed”.

“This season was not good for us, but I believe in our quality, I believe in myself and I know what I can do”.

However, it may be too late as thousands have already made plans to head to Switzerland for the final against Sevilla on May 18 – even though Liverpool have been allocated just 10,236 tickets for the 35,000-capacity St Jakob-Park. It was only passing and running but it’s looking good step-by-step.

A disappointing display was capped by a red card for Blues legend John Terry who will now miss the final two games of the season and may well have played his last game for the club.
