Liverpool’s game a complete disaster – Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini

Saturday will be a big day for 20-year-old England global Raheem Sterling, due to play against Liverpool for the first time since leaving them in the close-season for a fee that could rise to nearly 50 million pounds ($76.25 million).

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that striker Sergio Aguero is fit to face Liverpool this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp praised Liverpool’s performance in beating Manchester City 4-1, then warned rivals that his side can only get better.

“It’s important to retain the same way we finished [before the worldwide break] – at the moment we are having a good season”, City’s manager said.

Pellegrini defended his selection, saying: “I will not explain the starting XI, if I had to choose the same starting XI I would choose the same”.

“For us it is important we can see and feel there is a development in our game”.

“I always say that Raheem is a very young player”.

Midfielder Milner, who left City for Anfield in the summer, said: “I thought we were outstanding”.

And Pellegrini was at a loss when quizzed on his team’s performance after the game.

Aguero is widely regarded as one of the best centre forwards in the world game, with City a much more risky proposition with him in their side.

But while former City player James Milner may receive a warm welcome as he returns to the Etihad Stadium with Liverpool, Sterling can expect a different reaction from the visiting fans.

“I played [them] with Dortmund twice and never lost!” “I think that we not only demonstrate now that without Sergio (or) any important players, we can play”. City have relied on four or five players in the last few years, but they now have more players that are capable of stepping in when the key players are injured. I heard we had more players here but it was not the truth, they were only a little bit earlier because some of them only had one game.

The Reds, however, could be boosted by the return of Daniel Sturridge, who was back in training following a knee injury this week.
