Liverpool’s Klopp calls for consistency ahead of Sunderland game
“I don’t know if it’s from last game to next game or in the transfer window, I’m not sure about this”.

Even against a team floundering as hard as Sunderland, I’m still not confident enough to get cocky.
The big Belgian has thus far failed to live up to his price-tag since a mega-bucks move from Aston Villa during the summer, but having played a completely different brand of football in the Midlands, the jury is still out as to whether he’ll be able to adapt to Klopp’s all-action style.
When asked about his squad, the Liverpool boss told German news agency DPA: “The problem is rather that we have too little time to work without distraction because of the high number of matches”. Of course, he is not the same (type of) striker as Daniel (Sturridge) and Divock (Origi) because of the movements. Christian Benteke’s goal against the Foxes at the weekend was a timely one and now the Belgian must stand up and start delivering some returns on his big price tag.
“There’s no reason to doubt the mentality of the team (or worry) that they’ll maybe think “it’s only Sunderland” or anything like that”. Of the 37 goals that they’ve conceded this season, only nine have been at the Stadium Of Light, while eight of their 12 points have been earned on the banks of the river Wear.
The Liverpool skipper made his return in the side’s 1-0 win over Swansea City at the end of November, and has played 90 minutes in each of the club’s past three Premier League fixtures.
Liverpool produced a whole-hearted and committed performance full of energy and although they never created too much in terms of goalscoring opportunities they did have most of the game’s possession and nullified the unsafe threat of Leicester’s counter-attack led by Vardy and Mahrez. The hyperbole surrounding Klopp’s appointment has now worn off and what is left is a team that is still a long way from where they want to be. I know he’s a player where pain up to seven – no problem.
The Reds’ 1-0 home win on St Stephen’s Day against Leicester was their first in four Premier League games, and directly followed a 3-0 loss at Watford.
But if Liverpool’s defence can be described as fragile then Sunderland’s is already shattered into a thousand pieces.

Perhaps the most famous win by Sunderland against the Reds came in 2009-10 when their winning goal saw Darren Bent’s shot deflected into the net by a beach ball thrown from the crowd.
