Liverpool’s Klopp hopes Mane man is back for Burnley clash

Speaking at Melwood on Monday afternoon to preview his side’s EFL Cup second-round tie with Burton Albion, Klopp says reporters place far more importance on signings rather than time spent training and, once again, reiterated that he is happy with the players now at his disposal.

Klopp had kinder words for Burnley, despite his frustration with his own team.

Klopp said his side were missing the “last punch in the decisive moments” at Turf Moor but was defensive when asked about whether the loss would lead to an increase in his urgency to add to his squad.

“You don’t believe for a second in improvement on the training pitch”.

Klopp says that he picked Moreno in the Arsenal game for a reason and although he gave the penalty away, the situation should have been handled better before it got to that.

“Show me your best and I will make decisions and the most comfortable situation for me would be when the decisions are really hard to make because that would mean no-one gave me a sign they don’t want to be involved”.

“We can react better but I saw a lot of good things”. We put ourselves under pressure.

“What will happen we will see, I don’t know in this moment, but we do not have a preferred position to sign players”.

It’s only one game, so it’s not the end of the world, but what’s even more alarming is the manner in which they lose to the newly promoted club. That’s not the plan.

“If you don’t have other options, you need to take what you can get because you can’t switch the game to another date”.

“We have analysed Burton”.

“As I said before, until August 31, anything is possible because anything can happen”, he said.

“I don’t think there will be many teams who get the ball as much as Liverpool, they get so many bodies in there”.

“The win was important because it means you (media) don’t keep dragging up the statistic of how long since we won”.

The 25-year-old sprung out of non-league football two years ago when leaving Luton for Brentford, and since a switch to Burnley 12 months later he has become a key Claret. But they are very good players. “OK, I could now name a few names, but it is possible that they could still play so I have not made a final decision about this”.

“Of course we respect them”.
