Wijnaldum became Klopp’s sixth signing of the off-season after completing a reported £25million move from Championship outfit Newcastle United on Friday.

The Holland worldwide is due a medical on Merseyside after an agreement was reached which comprises a guaranteed £23m payment, plus a £1m appearance-related add-on and a final £1m due if Liverpool achieve specified targets.
“Newcastle United can confirm the sale of Georginio Wijnaldum to Liverpool for an undisclosed fee”, Newcastle’s managing director Lee Charnley said on their website.
The Dutch midfielder only joined Newcastle last summer from PSV Eindhoven, but the Magpies’ relegation from the Premier League has spelt the end of his stint at St. James’ Park.
“We have sent out some of the goalkeepers on loan to get games, which is important because in this position you only come off the bench if there is an injury or a red card”.
‘I had my debut at Feyenoord, that was already five years ago, and I and I had number five, so I started with number five, ‘ Wijnaldum told LFCTV.
The Evening Chronicle claim that manager Rafa Benitez won’t be bullied into selling the 25-year-old, who scored 11 goals from midfield last season.
“Jurgen gave me a good feeling in that conversation.
He’s a real footballer and has a special kind of football smartness”, Klopp told Liverpool’s official site.
Liverpool’s most successful Dutchman, Kuyt, has had some very nice things to say about the midfielder, too.
Klopp is looking forward to working with Wijnaldum too and said: “I am so happy that we have got him and he can join us now in the USA”.

The 25-year-old is manager Jurgen Klopp’s seventh signing of the summer, following Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan and Alex Manninger to Anfield. “He is still our player and that means he has to be ready for us”.
