Liverpool: Sturridge makes plea to Klopp

That charge could never be levelled against a Jose Mourinho side and the Portuguese takes Manchester United to Hull City with both teams having won their opening two games.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss said: ‘There are a few players a little bit in doubt, of course.
Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in their next league game on Saturday and speaking ahead of that match at his press conference manager Jurgen Klopp said that there was “no problem” with the striker after his comments.
“The first thing is I don’t want to play Daniel as a wide player but of course he can start there and play there but in the decisive moments he needs to be involved in all the finishing situations”, Klopp told reporters.
“Burnley and Burton weren’t games where I needed an offensive winger”.
“The players really skilled in finishing situations, you have them in and around the box. I was only [thinking about] how can we win this game?”
“I don’t know exactly what he said, but how I know him and when we have talked, there’s no issue about this”.
“Ask a question, get an answer, make an opinion about it…”
Klopp has had his say on the England ace’s position, claiming he doesn’t have to stay on the wing.
The German also highlighted how Sturridge can unsettle the opposition’s defence from out wide.
“One or two players with not a ideal pre-season, you have to think about if it makes sense to leave them out after the game on Saturday and then Tuesday, especially when you have fresh, high-quality players on the bench”.
“It’s flexible football. It’s about getting in and around the box”.
“Daniel is a very smart player”.
“You have to change positions”. Daniel is a very smart player in hiding himself in positions.

The Reds midfielder, who has been used sparingly since the start of the season as he looks to build back up his match fitness following a summer spent with the German national team at the European Championships, appeared to catch the turf with his studs before going down.
