Liverpool target Mahmoud Dahoud ‘will stay at Borussia Mönchengladbach’
Mahmoud Dahoud looks set for another season in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach as it looks like Liverpool is going to miss out on the Syrian youngster.

Supposed Liverpool target Mahmoud Dahoud does not have a bargain-basement release clause, according to his agent.
Monchengladbach, who are keen for the 20-year old to stay at Borussia-Park, have offered him a bumper new deal in an attempt to avoid doing this all again next summer, but Dahoud has thus far resisted their advances.
“It is certain Mahmoud will stay with Gladbach for now”, Reza Fazeli told the Guardian, killing a million more news stories in the process.
Indeed reports claim that within Dahoud’s current contract there’s a release clause of just £8.6m that will come into action in 2017’s off-season, which could allow the Reds to get their man for well below the €30m (£25.7m) Klopp was willing to pay this year.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been monitoring the Syrian-born Germany U-21 global after an impressive Bundesliga season in which he made 32 appearances, scoring five goals.
Jurgen Klopp wants to continue his squad overhaul and has made bringing in midfield competition a priority.
Dahoud’s agent also refuted reports of the player being available for a cut-price fee of £8.5m at the end of next season, stating that there was no such agreement in place between the player and Gladbach and that it is up to the club to decide the acceptable fee for a transfer.

Dahoud has represented Germany at various youth levels and is tipped to be among the next generation of global stars to take over the mantle from the current reigning world champions.
