Sturridge came on in the 64th minute with his side already 3-0 ahead thanks to goals from Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and an own goal from the Brewers’ Tom Naylor.
Mane was involved again shortly afterwards, starting a move which saw Adam Lallana’s cross find Firmino but Bywater pushed his powerful header wide. The goalkeeper’s throw out was intercepted and Nathaniel Clyne surged down the right wing before crossing for Firmino to head home.
Sturridge added a fourth goal with 13 minutes to play, the substitute tapping in at the far post from Milner’s low cross after a one-two with Mane.
The flood gates seemed to open from there, as Liverpool added a second just after the 20-minute mark.
It took 14 minutes for the England global to find his stride and net his first, tapping in from close range after some good work from James Milner and Sadio Mane.
Klopp handed a debut to Cameroonian centre-back Joel Matip and welcomed back Senegalese winger Sadio Mane following a shoulder injury at Burton’s Pirelli Stadium.
Sturridge then treated himself to Liverpool’s fifth in the 83rd minute with a thumping effort, compounding Burton’s misery as the visitors registered a 5-0 win.
“We made one change, then a second change with half-an-hour to go, but unfortunately we had to take out Emre”.
James Milner’s overhit cross was recovered by Mane, who jinked past Damien McCrory and squared the ball for Origi to flick home from close range.
An attempted clearance from Burton fell to Milner who did well to make it out wide, playing a one-two with Mane before firing a unsafe ball across the face of goal fro Sturridge to tap home at the back post. “Some only got minutes in pre-season”.

Mane continued to show why Klopp paid so much for his services, making a good run inside before finding Sturridge.
