Liverpool vs Manchester United: Combined XI
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal would rather be taking his under-performing team anywhere but bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday as speculation continues over his future at Old Trafford.

Klopp made it clear the feelings are mutual as he prepared for his first meeting with Manchester United.
Despite all criticism of their strike force, Manchester United have managed two more goals than Liverpool in the Premier League this season. “They are the salt in the soup”. They are the best matches to perform in.
Former England worldwide Jamie Carragher predicts that Liverpool and Manchester United will share the spoils on Sunday in a highly-entertaining 2-2 draw, Sky Sports report.
“Okay, fine, you would have all this money but also all this pressure so it is not nice”.
“I am part of the transition so I can not imagine that shall happen with Manchester United”, he said.
Van Gaal and Klopp faced each other four times in the Bundesliga when in charge of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund respectively, claiming two wins each.
But a run of one win in eight Premier League games sees United in sixth spot, three places and three points above Sunday’s hosts.
“I know the history behind the game and I’ve been told about the game by all the fans I’ve seen. He has a special idea of football and as an opponent you have to respect this”.
In an interview with The Times, Can admitted he’s loving life under Klopp at Anfield.
“You can score as many goals as you want, but if you keep conceding goals, then it’s a problem”, Rooney said. “It’s better to be first, I agree with that, but we are still, in the two years I have been here, in transition, and that’s maybe also the reason”.
For a season of unentertaining football, one game that never fails to entertain is the North-West derby. Brendan Rodgers rarely played him in his favoured midfield position during a turbulent first season with the Reds following a £10million move from Bayer Leverkusen – but Klopp has shown much greater faith in his qualities.
“Obviously it’s good to play well against the good teams but my aim here is to help the team by scoring goals and doing whatever I can on the pitch”.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are still searching for their maiden Premier League crown, having last won the top-flight title under Kenny Dalglish in 1990, and despite their hard campaign so far Van Gaal sees no reason to believe United’s traditional dominance could be on the wane. “It was a big honour for me, the whole talk, to be honest”.
