Livid Doncaster Rovers fans blast club after Louis Tomlinson wins ‘fixed’ competition
A separate statement on the League One club’s website, addressing the fan furore, read: “Rovers fans from all walks of life and of all ages were encouraged to design and submit their shirt designs before short-listing took place”.

Fans were asked to vote on the designs, before Doncaster Rovers revealed that Louis had been behind the winning kit.
“I have nothing against Louis Tomlinson, I’m sure he’s a nice lad”, said Taylor. Long time Tomlinson fans will be aware that back in 2014, Louis even tried to buy the club with businessman John Ryan.
“The process for receiving kit designs, shortlisting and the public voting for our kit design competition followed strict legal guidance to ensure that the club adhered to competition law and that all processes were fair”, the spokesman said.
“You kidding me, the away shirt was coincidently designed by Louis Tomlinson and it coincidently won?! I can’t wait to see my team wearing it.” . I think it’s a slick way of getting around his image rights which I know they had problems with when he was wanting to takeover the club.
According to Doncaster Press, Doncaster Rovers will be turning out in next season’s away matches in a kit designed by Tomlinson.
Some branded it as a complete PR stunt stating that it was an absolute FIX that Louis Tomlinson won the competition due to his massive fan base.
“They shortlisted his shirt along with the four worse designs – one of which looked like a green table cloth – so that his was the only acceptable one for people to vote for”.
Louis Tomlinson joined forces with his grandad to produce an all black design for Rovers’ new away shirt which went on to win the away shirt competition with Tomlinson receiving 33.7% of the total votes.

Many fans have claimed the competition was “fixed” in order to use the 24-year-old’s global status as a member of One Direction to sell more shirts.
