But Sprint and T-Mobile, two of the nation’s biggest wireless carriers, on Tuesday said their pre-orders show plenty of demand for Apple’s newest smartphone. Last week, the company said it would not release its first weekend sales figures this year for the first time in its iPhone history.

“Looks like I bricked both iPhone and iPad with iOS update”, Canadian tech entrepreneur Roustern Karimov posted on Twitter, joining a sizable group of angry Apple patrons grumbling about the update online. Apple and its partners began taking preorders for the iPhone 7 handsets on Friday.

Well-known Apple hand Piper Jaffray’s Gene Muster said that he expects the iPhone 7 to match iPhone 6 in terms of sales and lead times.

Meanwhile, Sprint highlighted in a press release that pre-orders of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are up more than 375% in the first three pre-sale days, compared to the same period previous year. That offer lets customers get an iPhone 7 handset for free if they trade in a paid-off iPhone 6 or 6S phone. T-Mobile’s comments are the first glimpse of how the iPhone 7 is being received, given its controversial lack of a headphone jack and the fact that Apple has already forecast a third consecutive quarter of revenue declines. The new operating system also enhances Messages emoji features, with predictions that suggest emoji as you type; a new “tap to replace” feature that lets you “emojify” a message; and new emoji that appear three times larger.

The iOS keyboard has been given a similar intelligence boost, Apple says, and is now able to better understand context as you type, including showing you a snapshot of your calendar as you discuss making plans with contacts.

Mr. Munster continues to project an 11% YoY revenue growth for the iPhone 7 cycle. If the customers want extra storage option or an iPhone 7 Plus, then they can avail it by paying the difference in the amount. Last year, it reported sales of 13 million units of the iPhone.

By eliminating the universal 3.5mm headphone jack from its products, Apple may be positioning itself to corner a rapidly expanding market.
