Local 5 speaks one-on-one with Governor Mike Pence

A Wisconsin law enforcement official said Thursday he doesn’t know why a Washington Post reporter was kicked out of a Wednesday night campaign rally near Milwaukee for Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence, but stressed it wasn’t his department that removed him. “Now, state police officers, in collusion with private security officials, subjected a reporter to bullying treatment that no ordinary citizen has to endure”, Martin Baron, the executive editor of the Post, said in a statement to WISN 12 NEWS.

After placing his computer and phone in his auto, DelReal returned to the line and was detained again by security personnel, who summoned two county sheriff’s deputies. But security personnel stopped him again, DelReal said, and then called over two county sheriff’s deputies, who patted down DelReal’s legs and torsos, looking for his phone.

“Winning their votes is the critical element of the campaign, and makes Pence’s visit to Waukesha so important”, Franklin said.

“Throughout my career I have strongly supported free trade in measures that came before the Congress, and when I was asked to support free trade initiatives as the governor of in, I supported them”.

It seems as if both Trump and Pence are attempting to ban reporters from writing anything negative about their speeches, when in reality, all they are trying to do is report the truth. He also denied DelReal’s request to speak to a campaign press representative as he escorted the journalist out. “I’m proud to say with the support of our conservative legislator, we’ve enacted more than $3.5 billion in tax relief for Hoosiers between now and 2022”.

According to the Post, reporter Jose A. DelReal attempted to gain a press pass to the event but was refused by volunteers for the campaign.

DelReal began by attempting to get press credentials, but was turned down in accordance with the Trump campaign’s blacklist of the Post. All of this took place in a public facility no less.

Local 5’s Cole Higgins was inside the Waukesha Expo Center for the Pence address Wednesday.

“It sounds like they misinterpreted what they were supposed to be doing”, the unnamed official said. He said volunteers went too far.
