Christians remember and express gratitude for the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ and the great sacrifice He made on the cross of Calvary.

If Christ is God, He can’t sin, and if enduring was a transgression in and without anyone else’s input, He couldn’t have languished and passed on over us. Why did God send Jesus – His only Son – to die for the failures of people who had failed Him so many times? On this day, people give show respect for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and this is the Friday before the every easter. In the city’s Pilsen neighborhood, thousands of Catholics are keeping a longtime Good Friday tradition alive. It is celebrated traditionally as the day on which Jesus was crucified.

Church goers said it was important they come and reflect on Christ’s passion and death on the Cross.

Schools are closed, and many employers allow their employees to leave early to attend services or prepare for their Sunday celebrations, which are more centered on Easter than the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Families across eastern Iowa are showing their devotion to Jesus Christ on Good Friday…like the Pfeiffer Family. The Bible says that the Risen Christ appeared to more than 500 people before He ascended back to His Father in heaven.

“It’s always good to be connected with Jesus, even if you already are”. But there was no other way – for on the cross, all our sins were transferred to Him, and He took upon Himself the judgment and Hell that we deserve.

“I am the resurrection and the life whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die”.
