Victory wasn’t what anti-Trump forces were shooting for, but they also failed to win a quarter of the votes on the 112-member panel that would have allowed them to carry their battle to the convention floor on Monday.

The process for them to do so was to gain to the support of one quarter of the rules committee, but they fell far short of doing so.

That means 36 state delegates will go for Trump; 13 will vote for Texas Sen.

The national convention will be a “much different experience” than those at the state level, he said.

Jean Turner of Gibsonburg has been an OH delegate to the Republican National Convention twice – in 2008 for John McCain and 2012 for Mitt Romney.

Unruh’s movement received a blow this week as the convention’s Rules Committee defeated a proposed “conscience clause” amendment that would have allowed delegates to vote for the candidate of their choosing.
