Local Democratic Leaders react to DNC Email Controversy
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz attends a campaign rally at Florida International University Panther Arena on July 23, 2016 in Miami, Florida.

The convention shift comes after the trove of DNC emails revealed, without a doubt, that the party showed a disgusting level of partiality and preference, determined to nominate Clinton and silence Sanders.
Mr Marshall has issued an apology and on Sunday, it was announced that Ms Wasserman Schultz was standing down as chairperson of the DNC after Mr Sanders had called for her to go.
Clayton says he understands the frustration of some Sander’s supporters, but that the threat of a President Trump should cause the party to unify. Perhaps part of the calculation was that Wasserman Schultz represented South Florida, a Democrat-rich area of a critical swing state in the upcoming election.
She added that Sanders’ criticisms of Clinton were giving Trump all of his talking points, and that the senator’s supporters were not of her concern because most would vote for Clinton anyway.
The embattled politician is slated to gavel in the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, even though her role in the event has been dramatically reduced after the email scandal.
“I think she should resign, period”, the Vermont senator told ABC’s This Week.
As a result of the leaks, Wasserman Schultz has been removed as a speaker at the DNC this week, a decision reached by party officials Saturday, a top Democrat said.
US President Barack Obama said he called Ms Wasserman Schultz today to say he was “grateful” for her years of service. On Friday, Wikileaks released over 20,000 emails from the DNC servers that didn’t necessarily paint Wasserman Schultz in the best light.
“So I can see there’s a little bit of interest in my being here”, Wasserman Schultz said, visibly shaken as police moved in to push back the crowd.
Wasserman Schultz is up for reelection for her House seat, and faces a woefully low approval rating in the state at 19 percent, according to the only poll in the race.
Eventually she was forced to leave the stage, surrounded by security and a crush of reporters. It has also been announced that she will step down as the party’s leader after the convention is over.

“Now is the time to elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump”. Or is it enough simply to take Ms. Clinton’s word for it that she didn’t “know anything about these emails?”
