Local Powerball winner hasn’t claimed $1M prize

The Virginia Lottery revealed the identity of the woman who won $1 million during a Powerball drawing earlier this month.

The mother of four said she didn’t realize she won until she checked her ticket after a co-worker who heard a winning ticket was sold in Salem jokingly asked if she was the new millionaire from Salem. If you match all five white balls in any order and match the red Powerball number, then you’ll win the jackpot. Whoever bought it has a year to claim their portion of the jackpot.

The Jan. 13 drawing produced three winners: one each in Florida and Tennessee and one locally in Chino Hills. The store received $10,000 from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Eric Bohl purchased a single $2 ticket for the drawing at Lassus Brothers, 5545 Stellhorn Road, the lottery said.

Willis visited Lottery headquarters in Lansing on Tuesday to claim her big prize. Meanwhile, that evening his wife chose to watch the drawing and was overcome with joy when she found out that her numbers matched the drawing. “First-time players don’t fully understand the game”.

The two biggest Ohio Lottery games have jackpots that continue to push toward the $100 million mark.

After federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent, she took home a check for $51.9 million. However, John wanted to make sure that they got the news from a reputable source before he got excited about the winning ticket.
