Local school promotes peace with special ceremony
“It makes me feel great to show the community we do care about peace around the world for one day”.

Arvin High School students took part in an global art and literacy project called “Pinwheels for Peace” on Wednesday.
They have planted “Pinwheels for Peace” outside their school, along parkway avenue.
The class of 2020 is taking part in an global art and literacy project called Pinwheels for Peace.
Arvin planted pinwheels in various themes, including sports, TV shows and food, and the largest pinwheels in the world, measuring almost six and a half feet high and four and a half feet wide. “It was important for them to understand how to be peaceful in school and how it can be spread across the whole community and elsewhere”. In the first year, groups in more than 1,325 locations throughout the world.
This project is non-political – peace doesn’t necessarily have to be associated with war, it can be related to violence, intolerance and peace of mind, according to the news release.
Pinwheels for Peace started in Florida in 2005.

Worden said the exhibit lasted until 4 p.m.so the students could take their pinwheels home.
