Amid outcry over the lynching of a 50-year-old man in Dadri, senior Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan on Monday sought intervention by the United Nations to look into the miseries of the minorities in India.

The U.P. government today submitted its report to the central government about the horrific attack on Mohammed Akhlaq and his family over allegations that he had killed a calf and they were consuming beef. “Hindus and Muslims should work together to fight poverty”, said PM Modi against backdrop of Dadri incident. “Mulayam Singh Yadav’s patriotism is at stake now”, the Sena said.

The party, however, questioned the narrative and said that just because anyone is a BJP sympathiser does not make the party involved in an incident.
