Logano supports Kenseth’s suspension

But I’m going to look at the silver lining of this one…. He finished fourth here in April, when with about 20 laps left, Kevin Harvick tapped the rear of Logano’s vehicle to push past him. Kenseth was trailing by 10 laps and appeared to be retaliating against Logano, who had turned Kenseth with five laps remaining at Kansas two weeks earlier when they were battling for the lead.

Kenseth expressed frustration at Logano’s unapologetic stance after the incident, saying he “should have stopped running his mouth, A, and No. 2, he’s lying when he said he didn’t do it on goal”.

“I’m obviously more than a little disappointed on the decision and the penalties to start with”. Logano has been called to task by a few for not calling Kenseth to try to quell the emotions before things got out of hand, even if the apology or explanation wasn’t honest. But, I think I guess the implications aren’t really clear on how things work and what kind of trouble you can get yourself into.

This weekend will be critical for drivers like Joey Logano, Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski.

“I am confident in the decisions that we have made”. Last Sunday, Kenseth retaliated by driving Logano into a wall at Martinsville, all but eliminating Logano from season title contention.

“When you think about being a champion and being a champion in life, this is a true test of the type of person you are, ” Logano said Friday at Texas Motor Speedway.

Kenseth will miss the next two races, at Texas and Phoenix, and is eligible to return for the November 22 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In fact, finding many NASCAR fans that are supporting Logano in this situation is like looking for a needle in a stack of discarded racing tires. NASCAR then suspended Kenseth for two races, and his appeals were denied.

Hamlin believes Kenseth was only enforcing the code, especially after Logano showed no remorse for crashing Kenseth at Kansas in an incident that ended his chances to win the Chase for the Championship.

“I have more fans than I have ever had before and I love it and I appreciate every one of them”. Did we get the finish we felt we deserved that day? Textbook pass for the win at the end of the race when someone is trying to take your lane.

“He was on the inside of me, I took the risk of blocking and I knew the consequences, and he moved me out of the way”, said Logano, who watched that race again this week.

The final appeal was only the third hearing overseen by Moss, a former Gulfstream Aerospace executive who joined the NASCAR appeals process past year. Logano was out front and had led nearly half of the race to that point.

The sport has gone all-in on the “Boys Have At It” brand of racing, which means that hidden foreign objects, the occasional pull of the firesuit and smashing into other cars are perfectly legal as long as the ref doesn’t see it. As I sit right now, maybe I’ll change my mind. “What happened on Sunday, that’s not quite the way that we would have liked to see that turn out”. “I feel like I was unfairly made the example instead of knowing where the line is and what the penalties are”.
