Lok Sabha adjourned till noon

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day after repeated disruption by the opposition. The government’s plea was that the party decided on the protests since Opposition did not want discussion.

Following this, Mahajan adjourned the house for the day.

The government, meanwhile, made it clear there would be no resignations, also adding that state issues would not be raised in parliament.

But, unrelenting Opposition ramped up its demand of resignation of Ms Swaraj, Ms Raje, and Mr Chouhan, forcing the adjournment of the House.

As the house met, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said a notice has been submitted. Hitting back, the government also maintained that it was ready to discuss the controversy related to Lalit Modi, in which Swaraj and Raje are under attack.

As soon as she took up the Question Hour, Congress members, wearing black bands on their arms, rushed to the Well shouting slogans and holding placards they have been displaying for the past three days accusing the Prime Minister of being “voiceless” while scams were taking place in his regime.

As the House re-assembled at noon after its first adjournment, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari wanted to take up question hour but the opposition refused to yield.
