Lollapalooza marks 25th anniversary by adding 4th day
America’s largest rock music festival is getting even bigger. Lollapalooza 2016 will be invading Grant Park July 28, 29, 30 and 31st for what is sure to be an incredible four days of music in Chicago.

Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell made the announcement Thursday.
Jones said the additional day will close Columbus Drive a day sooner than normal, but that the one-week closure of the park to prepare for and stage the festival would not need to be expanded.
Lollapalooza celebrates its 25th anniversary by giving fans more of which they seek – one more day of wall-to-wall music.
A booking agent said more than 1,500 “credible” band submissions have shown interest in the 2016 festivities, and about 170 are expected to be part of the expanded party.
Farrell says he chose to add a day because there was an “abundance of talent” that wanted to help mark the anniversary. “Then we thought about what a special day Thursday has become”. So, we’ve put together an entire additional day of music to celebrate our milestone year.
Traditionally three days, the festival is expanding to four days in honor of its 25th anniversary. “It’s going to be a fantastic party!”
