London tube station replaces adverts with pictures of cats
Travelling on the London Underground in summer can be a hot and sweaty experience, but anybody commuting through Clapham Common station will feel cool as a cat now that nearly all adverts have been replaced by posters of feisty felines.

The group – called the Citizens Advertising Takeover Service, or CATS for short – said they want to give passengers a break from the constant advertising on the underground.
But after thinking things through CATS made a decision to display photos of animals in need of loving homes – so numerous pictures you can see are cats from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home or Cats Protection, the UK’s largest feline welfare charity.
The aim is to provide a “relaxing, fun and light-hearted” space free from commercial adverts, Cats said.
Remember when a company was crowdfunding to replace all the adverts in a tube station with photos of cats?
The campaign was the first project by creative collective Glimpse. “It might not be cats, but it’s probably something you can’t find in the shops”.
We think it looks like the cat’s meow.
“Cats are also independent and can fit into a range of lifestyles so we hope anyone who sees the posters will adopt one of our thousands of unwanted cats”.
Or just a hell of a lot of smiley cats?
