Longhorns complete 23-17 upset over No. 12 Baylor
And while Texas may have been left with more questions than answers afterward – namely why it wasn’t able to duplicate the effort it put forth in wins against ranked Oklahoma and Baylor – the Longhorns were happy to end the season on the high note, that of which was certain. It was pretty cool, and cornerback Kris Boyd posted this video to Twitter. “Now we have something we can build on, and we can take into the offseason”.

Chris Johnson, the Bears’ third-string quarterback, suffered a concussion when he was smacked by Longhorns safety P.J. Locke with about two minutes to play in the first quarter.
When Baylor players smack talked them during pregame warm-up, it only motivated them.
Briles said his coaches hurriedly drew up the wildcat at halftime, an offense they hadn’t really used since 2009.
It almost worked. They cut the lead to 23-17, but fumbled near midfield late in the fourth quarter during a potential game-winning drive.
Senior kicker Nick Rose had one of the best games of his career as he went 3-for-4 on field goals, including a career-long 53-yarder.
Offensively, Texas quarterback Tyrone Swoopes was efficient, going 12 of 19 for 151 yards and a passing and rushing touchdown.
“That’s what we think the best route is”, Coleman said.
Texas’ first pick of Hawthorne resulted in a benches-clearing melee. Jefferson spurted for the first down, but Poona Ford stripped the ball and then recovered it, giving Texas the ball back with 2:31 to go in Bears territory. [I’m] not pleased with the year we had.
The Bears came across the field from their bench, and there were several scuffles even with referees and coaches between them trying to keep the teams separated.
Assuming the workouts are strong, Coleman can push himself into the first-round mix and make this decision look very smart and lucrative in April.
The only penalty was unsportsmanlike conduct against Kevin Vaccaro, though it appeared the Texas safety tripped over Hawthorne after Locke’s shove.
The Longhorns failed to score after their two interceptions of Hawthorne. The Bears had won four of five in the series before Saturday….
Baylor (9-3, 6-3) was held scoreless in the first half for the first time since October 29, 2011.

The Bears opened the season 8-0 and were in contention for a CFP berth before losing three of their last four games.
