This morning, it was reported that Bowie’s body has been cremated in NY with no friends or family present, in line with his wishes.

“Bowie proved a rousing substitute”, Dan Markowitz of “The New York Times” wrote of the show in a review published October 19.
The 18-songs in the musical include some of Bowie’s biggest hits including “Changes”, “Heroes“, “Absolute Beginners” and “Life on Mars” as well as new songs like “Lazarus”, taken from Bowie’s latest “Blackstar” album. He apparently knew since November that his cancer was terminal but Visconti believes he did not think he had so little time left. Now, it appears that Bowie was planning on releasing yet another album before he passed.
“We appreciate Austin’s reputation as the Live Music Capital of the World and recognise David Bowie for all he did for the music industry and more. Obviously, if he’s excited about doing his next album, he must’ve thought he had a few more months”.
Seems like just about everyone is getting in on David Bowie tributes the past couple days.
Officials for the festival deny involvement in the swap, with founder Roland Swenson saying, “It’s just a coincidence it’s across the street from our office at 400 (David) Bowie St”. It is also likely to be David’s first number one album in the US.
Bowie’s death has seen an outpouring of grief from the public and from his friends and colleagues – including Madonna, Iggy Pop, Sir Mick Jagger, Tina Turner and Sir Paul McCartney. Director James Gunn says the musician could have had a part in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Fans have paid tribute to the iconic star by leaving flowers and memorials at his apartment in New York City as well as in his native London. “I loved him because he was so different and unique”.

For many, this would be a moment of emotional healing, as they listened to classic Bowie tracks performed by Holy Holy, a tribute band comprising former Bowie collaborators. “I’m done with this living”, a character cries out one point, in a line that had more depth after Bowie’s passing.
