Look forward to Obama’s counsel: President-elect Donald Trump after White House meet

Trump told the paper, after speaking with Obama at the White House the day before, he was considering keeping the clause that allows children to stay on their parents’ insurance policies. Obama, who vigorously campaigned for his fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton to succeed him, had repeatedly called Trump unfit for the president’s office, while the real estate mogul had often dubbed Obama’s eight-year tenure a “disaster”.

Trump retorted by saying that “the White House is the White House, it’s just a spectacular place and you know it’s something that represents something very special”. Trump also said he looked forward to working with the President and would seek his counsel.

Now an online petition has been set up to demand the Electoral College, who still have to cast their votes to cement the billionaire’s presidency, go against the will of the people and elect Clinton president instead.

The two leaders planned to meet on Thursday (Friday NZT) at the White House, where Obama was to update Trump about ongoing planning for the transition.

Obama said he had offered assistance to Trump over the next couple of months, and urged the country to unite to face its challenges.
