The decisive game five will be played on Monday, September 21 in Chattanooga. He may not start in a game in the outfield, but Kepler will likely make his big league debut as a pinch runner, much like a certain veteran Twins outfielder did back in the day.

The Minnesota Twins have promoted one of their top hitting prospects, Max Kepler, from Double-A for the stretch drive.

He earned a SiriusXM Futures Game selection this season, as well as Southern League post- and mid-season All-Star and SL Player of the Week honors twice.

The Chattanooga Lookouts (1-2) collected eight hits, but could not muster any runs in the 2-0 loss to the Biloxi Shuckers (2-1) Saturday night. He was relieved by Jason Wheeler.

The Lookouts picked up a big insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning to push their lead to 4-0.

The Shuckers had an opportunity for a two-out rally in the third to cut into the Lookouts’ two-run lead, with Orlando Arcia (0x3, BB) reaching on a free pass and Reed poking a single up the middle, but Phillips flew out to right to end the inning. Stuart Turner walked to start the inning and was thrown out at second on a bunt attempt from Shannon Wilkerson. Tyrone Taylor (0x2, 2 BB) walked to load the bases, but back-to-back strikeouts to Josh Fellhauer (0x2) and Nick Ramirez (0x2) and a groundout by Adam Weisenburger (1×3) ended the threat.
