Lorenzo Clark, Terence Olridge Murder Suspect
Police say Olridge had an encounter with Clark, his neighbor, while on his way to work. “He was transported to Regional One where he later died from his injuries”.

A Memphis police officer who was fatally shot on Sunday was an alumnus of Lane College, Lane officials said today.
Lorenzo Clark was charged with felony possession of a firearm. Court records did not show whether he had a lawyer who could be contacted for comment. He then crawled to his home and banged on his garage door to get help, but later died after being rushed to a hospital.
Olridge’s uncle said the officer was on his way to work in his uniform when he was shot while in his vehicle, CNN affiliate WREG reported.
Relatives of the officer could be seen crying outside the hospital where he was taken.
“Americans across the nation were saddened” to hear of the death of Officer Terence Olridge, college officials said in a news release. A police spokesman isn’t saying if additional charges could be filed in the case and isn’t giving many more details about the incident.
After the shooting, Clark surrendered peacefully, police said. He joined the department September 22, 2014, and had a fiance who was four months pregnant, according to Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong.
Clark was previously sentenced to one year in jail following a March, 2003 conviction for reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon in a public place.
Armstrong says a male suspect is in custody but has not been charged. “I didn’t think that we’d be here again so soon”, Armstrong told reporters on Sunday.
Police on Sunday blocked the street in front of the house where the shooting happened. Timothy Warren was killed in 2011; Martoiya Lang was killed in 2012; Sean Bolton was killed in August 2015.
