The reigning MotoGP Champion, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Jorge Lorenzo, finished fourth, 0.287 of a second behind Espargaro.

Lorenzo, a victor in Qatar, France and Italy this term, has plummeted from first to third in the championship since his triumph at Mugello and trails Marquez by 64 points.

Fans attending the San Marino Grand Prix are also asked to share their “KiSS Misano” experience to further raise awareness about social and environmental sustainability.

“This is one of my favourite tracks, so let’s see if we can turn the tide”, he added, conceding his bid to retain his crown had been heavily compromised by recent results. We just hope tomorrow for the race that the rear tyre will be okay.

Spanish youngster Maverick Vinales claimed his maiden MotoGP win last time out, Suzuki’s first victory in the category since 2007, and will aim to push on this weekend following his breakthrough performance.

Dani Pedrosa, Marc’s Honda teammate completed the FP3 in fourth, followed by Silverstone Grand Prix victor Maverick Vinales.

Johann Zarco of France took the Moto2 pole, and Brad Binder of South Africa qualified first in Moto3. Friday’s fastest man Pol Espargaro completed the top 3.

The younger Espargaro didn’t put a single wheel wrong though and clocked a 1:32.769 to lead the way overnight with Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso joining him in the 1:32s to complete the top three.

Andrea Iannone crashed heavily in the first free practice session, and though he walked away and returned straight to his pit, he didn’t ride again.
